Preston North End have confirmed the deal that will see the 23 year old Cork City striker Sean Maguire.
Maguire will join up with former Dundalk stars Andy Boyle and Daryl Horgan at Deepdale, and also among them the other Irish players currently at Preston. Former Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers striker Eoin Doyle, winner of 86 Ireland caps Aiden McGeady, who is on-loan from parent club Everton, as well as left-back Greg Cunningham.
No details of the deal have been made public, but it is believed that the contract he signed before the start of this season supposedly stated that if a club agreed to pay City €150,000 for him it would allow him to leave for England.

The 23 year old striker scored a hat-trick at Oriel Park on Friday 02/06/17 (see article here) to stun the current Premier Division Champions Dundalk in a 3-0 win that put the leesiders 18 points clear at the top of the League.
Rumours have been circulating for a while, but after the mid season break Maguire won’t be at the club for much longer. Its a massive loss for Caulfield and City but will still be available for selection for the next 7 to 8 weeks or so.
So on a positive note he will still have a massive role to play in Corks Europa League Qualifiers and the current title charge.
