Coming up this weekend is UFC 214 which boast three title fights with the card headlined by Cormier vs. Jones II. This rematch has been a long time in the making but finally we will get to see the rivals meet again.
Jones will be challenging for the title he previously held and after beating Cormier already, he will be confident of regaining the belt.
Both fighters have been going back and forth on social media taunting each other and it looks like there is genuine dislike for each other here.
Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will defend his title against Brazilian Damien Maia. This is a classic battle of styles with Woodley an accomplished wrestler and supreme striker going up against one of the best grapplers in the history of the UFC.
Woodley will look for the knockout no doubt while Maia will look to take this bout to the mat and try get a submission.
The third title fight is Cris Cyborg vs Tonya Evinger for the vacant UFC featherweight title. This fight was initially made for Cyborg to challenge the champion Germaine de Randamie but the champion vacated her belt refusing to fight Cyborg citing her history of steroid use as the reason.
Cyborg is a former Strikeforce and Invicta world champion and her opponent is also a former Invicta world
champion so this should be a great contest.
After the terrible viewing figures on Fox last weekend the UFC will be confident of selling a lot of PPV’s for UFC 214 this weekend.
Irish fans can catch the action on BT Sports in the early hours of Sunday morning.
