AUL Results Tuesday 22nd August

 

Tonight teams were in action in the league Cup and League in the Cork AUL with a few games played.

 

Knocknahenny Celtic A

won 3-1 in the Mossie against Rylane. Scoreless at half time and then Knocknahenny  raced into a 3-0 lead midway through the 2nd half. Gareth Cambridge Wayne o Leary and Chris Akigbe scored. Could have been more only for Rylanes keeper was their best player on the night

 


 

Grattan United A

 

beat Carrigtwohill away 3-0 with Goals from John Paul O’Sullivan, Gary Coughlan and Adam Carroll.

 


 

Bohemians travelling away were beaten 2-1 by St. John Boscos.

Bohemians will be looking to bounce back from that defeat

 


Waterloo AFC

started strong beating Fairview by 4 goals to 3 and want to keep the momentum going.

AUL 1

Blackstone Rovers 1 Donoughmore Ath 3

Donoughmore had to come from behind for a second game in a row to take maximum points.
Blackstone took the lead on the half hour mark when their midfielder lached on to a cross to finsh from 12 yards. Donoughmore were finding it hard to settle inspite of Aidian O’Shea hitting the butt of the post in the 1st min.
There was a big improvement in the second half. The equaliser came in the 55th min when a Dan McSweeney throw was knocked down by Darren Lucey, Sean Kelleher then drilled a ball across the box which Aidan O’Shea converted. Jamie Twomey scored the lead goal when he collected a ball close to goal and he squeezed an effort between a defender and keeper in the 75th min. Twomey turned provider for Aidan O’Shea in the 80th min to secure the 3 points.
