Cork City defeat Levadia Tallinn to progress in Europe

Three second half goals from Sean Maguire wrote him into the history books with Cork City’s first ever European hat-trick as the Leesiders progressed into the second qualifying round of the Europa League beating a battling side Levadia Ballin by 4 goals to 2 (6-2 on aggregate)

a goal to level 1-1 by Karl Sheppard in the first half of the match brought City back into it, but going into the break at half time City were 2-1 down after a controversial second goal for the Estonians when a clear hand ball was missed.

36 seconds into the second half Maguire scored and went on to score 2 more finishing the game 4-2 and also earning himself a place in the Cork City record books by scoring there first ever European Hat-Trick.

Maguire also scored fifth European goal in total overtaking Dan Murray as top goal scorer in the competition.




City will now face AEK Larnaca in the second round
