Cork City win 1-0 beating St. Patrick’s Athletic

It has been another great day at Turners Cross for City as they have beaten St. Patrick’s Athletic 1-0 with Maguire scoring from the spot on the cusp of half time sending the Pats keeper the wrong way to go one nil up.

St. Patrick’s returned after the half down to ten men after Garvan was given a straight red card for a bust up in the tunnel during the half time break.

It wasn’t to be for St. Pats as a lot of half attempts from McCormack were blasted wide.

In the 69th minute Maguire with an attempted chip to the far corner over the goalkeeper only to be denied by the post.

The game finished 1-0 to City and they continue there lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity League.

City have seen their lead cut to nine points recently, but they have three games in hand over their nearest rivals to try and extend that lead.

John Caulfield’s men are still unbeaten in what has been a near flawless year, only dropping two points in 19 games.
