Everton: Good news for the blues

Published by Dean Evans on

It looks as though Everton will finally be moving from Goodison Park, their home for the past 125 years and take up residence on the Liverpool Dock yards of Bramley Moore and a proposed 60,000 seater.

We’ve seen Arsenal move from Highbury and with Spurs building on the site of White Hart Lane, clubs are looking to up their match day attendance to bring more fans and match day revenue.

Arsenal make between £1m-£2m per match day, this is down to their move to the Emirates, some fans have said it takes the atmosphere out of the stadium. Manchester United make even more per match day but they are the most forward thinking club in the world and they have had their 70k+ seater decades before everybody else.

But the question for me is, when does the stadium become too big and the true fans lose out because of corporate boxes or the ‘day’ fans that take pictures with their iPads at games. Clubs need to stay true to their ‘Old’ Stadium, the feel and atmosphere.

Would you like to see your team move or upgrade their stadium to help fund upgrades in the squad?
