Unity on Jamie Mcdonald

Jamie grew up in Carlow where he began his musical career busking on her mean streets. Influenced by a musical family and of course many musical inspirations from Beethoven to Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, folk music and much more he began his musical journey. Busking around Ireland and Europe as well as the inevitable gigging in pubs, clubs, bars, toilets and theatres, he slowly developed his writing and musicianship. Through paying his dues his sound coalesced into his signature Folk-Funk-Soul style, acoustic based, with lively hook filled songs to get people up and dancing.
Having gigged and recorded across the globe, for his third studio album, Maladies Of Country and Soul, Jamie is back in his hometown.
With David Ayers at the mixing desk and his backing band The Number Nein providing the grooves, beats and sonic wonderment, the new album is a leap forward both musically and artistically.

Jamie Mc Donald and The Number Nein’s Maladies of Country & Soul will be released in August preceded by a single with a string of country and Europe wide gigs to follow.
