National Stations partner with Republic of Work to launch bespoke broadcast studio

24.01.19: Today FM and Newstalk have announced the launch of a new state-of-the-art broadcast studio at Republic of Work, Cork City’s leading business innovation campus.

The three-year partnership with Republic of Work will see both national stations broadcast regularly from the purpose-built facility at 12 South Mall in the heart of Cork City. It will also facilitate podcast recording and production and allow local guest contributors to join radio panels and interviews from the Cork studio.

Today FM currently enjoys a weekly reach of 880,000 listeners, while Newstalk has a weekly reach of 769,000 listeners. In the coming weeks and months, a host of award-winning presenters including Pat Kenny, Ian Dempsey, Ciara Kelly and Dermot and Dave will all broadcast their radio shows from Leeside.

Newstalk’s Ciara Kelly hosted her first lunchtime show from the Cork studio today (Thursday) while Today FM’s Matt Cooper presented ‘The Last Word’ live from the new Cork studio before attending the launch of the new facility to the local business community.

Next week will see the launch of a 3-month outdoor advertising campaign for Today FM in Cork city including a large scale city bus wrap, a commuter campaign in Kent Station and a branded presence on Patrick Street. To mark the announcement of the Cork studio, Today FM also launched a local business promotion with a €20,000 radio and digital advertising campaign to be won.
